Last week I was thrown from my high horse. My vision of my angelic child was shattered. Indeed, he is not perfect. I caught him in a lie. A big fat lie. A lie he repeated over and over again for a month. Lest we all get too excited, the lie was about wearing retainers nightly even though they were actually lost at summer camp.

How do we prevent the values, beliefs, and expectations we have for our family from getting lost in the shuffle of our modern-day life?

One of the challenges of being a missionary, living an ocean away from friends and family, is staying ‘connected’ to them. Thanks to modern technology , we now have ‘skype’ and ‘facetime’ to help stay in contact with those far away. But no thanks, to the minimum five-hour time difference, chatting with folks back home can get tricky.
