All us have stories that are waiting to be told. Each story, or slice of our life, offers a glimpse of how we have been shaped, what matters to us, and why it matters.
The moment that I realized I was doing something that I was meant to do and loved to do was when I was in the mountains of Guatemala, working for non-profit organization. I was surrounded by poverty, but felt more alive than I have ever been. I discovered that God’s justice and hope can reach the darkest of places and that God has created me to participate with Him to demonstrate that justice and hope. God has created me to be a changemaker. I have learned how to express that in my vocation of social work and public policy in the city of Chicago and now in the city of Paterson.
